General Information

*State Testing for Math Grades 3-8th

The state math test is April 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.  The tests start at 8:45. Students who arrive after 8:30 may not be able to sit for the test that day. If your child is ill, please keep them home and they can make up missed tests in the three days following each of the tests.

Please bring 2-  No2 pencils to school. Students should be well rested and fed a healthy breakfast.

See letters from Principle Terri and the DOE.  If you have any questions about any of this, please do not hesitate to ask Terri.ruyter@bpcschool.org.  The Division of School Health has put together a helpful “test anxiety” tip sheet for both parents and students.

The DOE is thrilled to announce the official kick-off of the Community and citywide Education Council Elections.  We all know how essential parent engagement is to the success of our children's education.  Please consider nominating yourself or someone you know to be on the DOE CEC.  For more information about nominating and voting please click on link above.

8th grade graduation fundraising Basketball games are in full season and our graduation concession stand is in need of donated goodies! Baked, bagged or boxed goodies  Please bring your donations to the PTA room 105 marked "concession donations." Thank you for your donations! Please visit the school website for our MS home basketball games and come support our team and concessions!

As of January 1, the NYCDOE will no longer use ARIS or ARIS Parent Link, and will create a new system to provide parents with online access to up-to-date student information (by September 2015). In the interim, the NYCDOE will provide parents with alternate ways of retrieving their students’ information. More information about the new system, and alternate methods to retrieve students’ information will be shared as soon as it's available.

If your child is traveling or out of school for more than 3 days please advise William Wilson in the main office or email your child’s itinerary to  wwilson9@schools.nyc.gov and advise your child’s teacher. This will not “excuse” your child’s absence but it will be marked as an “explained” absence. Please bring in a note if your child has seen a doctor or dentist as well.

You must bring your PHOTO ID if you are entering the school building.  The security guards are there to protect your child(ren) and keep the school safe. If you do not have an ID then you will need to return home to get it. No one will be allowed to enter the building without proper ID(credit/debit cards are not accepted).
