This committee creates opportunities for 276 students and families to participate in projects that are good for our community and our environment. Our monthly clothing and textile drives are a great way to give good clothes to people in need and to recycle clothing and textiles that are no longer usable. During last year’s City Harvest food drive, our 5th graders helped us to collect over 1500 items for hungry New Yorkers.

Monthly Clothing & Textile Drive
Our monthly clothing and textile drives are a great way to give good clothes to people in need and to recycle clothing and textiles that are no longer usable. Clean new and gently-used women's and children's clothing and shoes are collected by our partners at the Urban Resource Institute (URI) http://urinyc.org. URI provides assistance to women and children fleeing domestic violence. Other clothing, textiles, shoes, and accessories are collected by Wearable Collections http://wearablecollections.com for reuse or recycling.Collections will generally be held on the first Monday of every month from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Please separate and label donations as follows:
- URI - Clean, "like new" women's and children's clothing and shoes.
- Wearable Collections - Clean clothing, textiles (e.g., bed linens, towels, etc.), shoes, bags, and other accessories. Clothing can have stains or holes but must be clean.
Donations that are not labeled will be given to Wearable Collections.
Please check the Lost and Found in the school's main lobby. All unclaimed items will be donated on the day of each clothing drive.
